Henry Ford Academy: Elementary School Families:

We had another successful week of school. I enjoyed visiting studios this week and seeing all of our students engaged and working hard. Please remember that next week we will start the MAP testing and it is important that students arrive at school on time and well rested.

I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 6:00pm for our Curriculum Night.

Thank you for your partnership. As always, please call us at 313-826-1159 if you have any questions.

Dr. Curtis Lewis

Please remember the uniform policy. All students must either be in the royal blue or yellow HFA: Elementary embroidered shirts with navy blue pants or skirts/skorts (no jumpers) for girls. If you are waiting for your uniform shirt to arrive your child must wear a white shirt and navy blue pants. Students are NOT to wear black pants. We expect ALL students to be in uniform by October 1, 2012. Any family still waiting for a polo shirt at that time must provide a copy of their order form. No exceptions!

Again, there is no parking on the south side of Glynn Ct. and this includes sitting in a car waiting on students. It is for the safety of all children that we ask students not to cross the streets unattended. For morning drop off we must watch our speed as we enter the parking lot and remember that it is only one lane. We will definitely continue to work together to make this a safe, respectful, and smooth process for our students and parents. Parents, if you are able to volunteer your time to assist with after school pick up, please call the school.

Special thanks to one of our parents, Ms. Sydnee Turner, for making beautiful signs for our teachers to use during student pick up. We appreciate your generosity!
