Henry Ford Academy: Elementary School Families:

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I look forward to another great week of learning. Remember, we are still taking the MAP test so please be sure that your child is in school and on time. I appreciate all that you do to make sure your children are here and ready to learn on a daily basis. Next week we will begin testing for the MEAP so let’s continue to ensure that students are at school on time, well rested, and ready to learn. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Tuesday, October 2 at 6:00pm for our first Parent Meeting.

Thank you for your partnership. As always, please call us at 313-826-1159 if you have any questions.

Dr. Curtis Lewis

Parents, please remember the uniform policy. All students must either be in the royal blue or yellow HFA: Elementary embroidered shirts with navy blue pants or skirts/skorts (no jumpers) for girls. If you are waiting for your uniform shirt to arrive your child must wear a white shirt and navy blue pants. Students are NOT to wear black pants. We are extending the deadline for students to be in full uniform to October 8, 2012. Any family still waiting for a polo shirt at that time must provide a copy of their order form. No exceptions!

The City of Detroit has agreed to make Glynn Ct a one-way westbound by installing “No left nor right turn from 7-9:30am and again from 2:00pm-4:30pm” from south and north bound Hamilton St. I appreciate all of the support of our parents during the pick up and drop off times.

Special thanks to parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sanders, Ms. Tracy Taylor and Ms. Carlita Watts for your assistance during our student pick up and drop off times. Thank you for your support!
