Elementary school families, please join us for a free visual arts exhibition with some of Detroit’s future artists, designers and creative thinkers at Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies’ Night of the Arts on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, from 5-8pm at 485 W. Milwaukee in Detroit. From insect-inspired chair designs, to re-imagined late model cars, and “blind contour” self-portraits, hundreds of pieces of student and staff work will be on display throughout the school. The event is open to the public, and will also include live entertainment, a fashion show of original student designs, and light refreshments. Our sister school, HFA: SCS, is the only tuition-free middle/high school in Michigan where art/design is a core subject, along with math, science, social studies and English/language arts.
