Dear Henry Ford Academy: Elementary School Families:
I would like to
welcome you all to a new school year. My staff and I are extremely excited about this school
year. As the founding principal of
Henry Ford Academy: Elementary School, I have the opportunity and privilege to
work with you to create a strong foundation for lifelong learning for your
children, and to help them understand that it can be fun and engaging.
In our second
year as a school community, we are looking forward to strengthening the great
things that were started last year.
More than 380 students have joined our school community for this new
school year. We have 30 energetic,
highly qualified teachers and staff members who are eager to work with your
Curriculum Night and our first parent meeting will take
place on September 10th at 6:00 p.m. The parent meeting will start promptly at 6:00 p.m. It is important
that all parents attend. We will
be sharing important information regarding our curriculum and after school
programs. It will also be an
opportunity for you to meet your child’s teacher.
The work to build
a strong school community starts now. Here are four ways you can help:
- Get your children excited for
Encourage them to be eager, to be ready to learn, to be innovative, and
to be positive. Read to them and with them. The school day starts at 8:20 a.m. and students will be tardy
after 8:25 a.m. The school day
ends at 4:00 p.m. Students are
engaged in learning up until 4:00 p.m. so parents please limit the amount of
- Support the culture of our school and the safety of our students by
taking steps to ensure that your child will be in proper dress code every day. We require a logo shirt,
navy or black bottoms, and closed toe shoes for all students.
- Partner with your child’s
teacher. They are available for you to call on their cell phones from 4:00 p.m. -
7:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Also
check your child’s studio website for weekly updates and academic resources for
students to use at home.
- Please be sure to communicate any questions/concerns you may have about your child’s education to
myself or your child’s teacher. I
look forward to working with you all this year!
We value parents
and we will do our best to give 110% every day to educate your children. I look forward to getting to know each
of you in the coming weeks and months. If you have any questions, please
contact us at 313-826-1159.
