Now accepting enrollment applications for 2018-2019

Creativity. College. Career. It all starts here! Henry Ford Academy: Elementary School is now accepting applications from new students for the 2018-19 school year. Visit the Admissions section of our website  to apply.

Our aligned middle/high school, Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies is also accepting for the 2018-2019 school year from new students entering grades 6-11! Apply online at www.schoolforcreativestudies.org or visit the school for an application. (Current HFA: Elementary School 5th graders are guaranteed enrollment at HFA: SCS and will be asked to complete an Intent to Transition form.)

Deadline for open enrollment and sibling priority for both schools is April 6, 2018.

Due to the inclement weather expected throughout the day, Henry Ford Academy: Elementary School is closed today - Wednesday, December 13th, 2017. 

MDE Partnership Agreement

Parents - You may have read in the paper or heard on the news today that Henry Ford Academy: Elementary School is entering into a Partnership Agreement with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and were wondering what this means.  This means that we are submitting a plan that describes our goals for strengthening student performance on the MSTEP, Michigan’s standardized testing system and the strategies we are implementing to reach those goals.  While the announcement from MDE is occurring now, our plan was developed last year and is already being implemented.  If you have any questions about this, please reach out to Ms. Brimage.

Water Main Break - School Closed - Thurs. Oct. 26

Due to The City’s water main break, Henry Ford Academy: Elementary School will be closed on Thursday, October 26th. The city is working diligently to rectify this issue as quickly as possible. Please stay tuned for further updates throughout the week.

Due to a water main break on Calvert Street, the City of Detroit is shutting off the water at HFA: Elementary School. We therefore have to close the elementary school until further notice. We are asking that you pick up your child from school at this time. Please stay tuned for further updates throughout the week.

Free Breakfast Program for All Students

Did you know that a free breakfast is available to all HFA: Elementary School students through the National School Breakfast Program from 8:00am to 8:20 am on regular school days?
